About this guide

Blue Resort Group is an independent reference to eighteen hotels, grouped into four categories that have almost nothing in common: art hotels, capsule houses, four Canadian resort complexes, and northern properties built from ice, snow and glass. Every entry is written to the same plan, so two very different buildings can still be read side by side.

How the hotels were chosen

Each one was picked because its building does something specific and describable. A former bathhouse, a row of medieval houses, a berth built into a bookshelf, a frozen hall that survives the summer. Nothing was chosen for prestige, and nothing was chosen because a hotel asked for it.

Where the information comes from

Descriptions are drawn from open sources: hotel and operator websites, maps, and published writing about the buildings. Where a claim could not be confirmed, it was left out rather than softened. Each entry carries the month it was last checked, and entries are rewritten when the building changes.

What this site does not do

There are no prices, no star ratings, no room counts, no reviews, no scores and no booking of any kind. The guide carries no advertising and no partner links, and it is not connected to any hotel or operator on it. Corrections are welcome through the contact page.
